I normally have a weekly interview with David Todd on Wednesdays on ESPN 970 in Pittsburgh. The interview typically goes about 15 minutes each week. However, with a lot to talk about this week, between our Mid-Season Top 50 Prospect List, and the upcoming trade deadline, we did an extended segment. And then that segment got extended. The result was the longest radio interview I think I’ve done, spanning three segments, and over 35 minutes of podcast time. It was also some great baseball talk, and as always, very enjoyable to discuss things with David.
The podcasts of the extended interview can be found below. Part one has the top 50 talk, focusing on a lot of guys at the top of the draft. There was also some discussion about the Pirates’ pitching prospects in Triple-A. Part two continues the top 50 discussion, looking at Mitch Keller, and some breakout guys outside of the top 20. We finished up the top 50 discussion in part three, then proceeded to trade deadline discussion, along with some ideas for handling the Pirates’ rotation.
