Pirates Officially Call Up Jameson Taillon, Option Curtis Partch to Indianapolis

Published:

The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially recalled Jameson Taillon for tonight’s MLB debut, and to make room on the 25-man roster, they have optioned Curtis Partch to Indianapolis. They also sent Wilfredo Boscan back down, who was up yesterday as the 26th man for the doubleheader.

The move to send Partch down isn’t much of a surprise, since he just came up and didn’t get in a game. This puts the Pirates short a reliever for the next few days, since the Pirates currently have six starters in Pittsburgh. From here, they would either have to option Taillon back down tomorrow to get some relief help, or roll with a short bullpen for a few days until one of the starters is ready to make the transition to relief.

That will all be known in the coming days, but for tonight, we get to enjoy Taillon’s debut.
