The Altoona Curve announced on Tuesday that pitcher Jason Creasy has been placed on the disabled list. He will be replaced in the starting rotation by Brandon Waddell. Creasy is sidelined by a right forearm strain. In five starts, he had a 4.85 ERA over 26 innings, with 13 strikeouts and a 1.35 WHIP.

The Waddell move was announced here two days ago. In 29 innings over five starts from Bradenton, he had an 0.93 ERA and an 0.52 WHIP, to go along with a .133 BAA, 1.14 GO/AO ratio and a 2:26 BB/SO ratio. He will make his debut tomorrow.

Waddell’s spot in the Bradenton rotation will be taken by Jose Regalado tomorrow. His spot on the roster will be filled by reliever Tate Scioneaux, who was promoted from West Virginia.

His throw day is Thursday and they haven’t decided yet if he goes once more in Extended Spring Training or he joins Bradenton

  • Wow. That’s aggressive. I like it. If you can get people out consistently you are special. Nothing on this kid screams player until he winds up. Great pick for the Pirates
