Pirates outfielder/first baseman Corey Hart has been shut down on his rehab assignment in Triple-A because of his reoccurring knee issues. He was placed on the disabled list on June 24th and has since been rehabbing in Indianapolis.
Neal Huntington spoke on Hart on Sunday night before the Pirates game against the Cardinals.
“Corey has had some discomfort in his knee so we have shut his rehab down,” Huntington said. “He’s going to come back to Pittsburgh to be re-evaluated. We’ll see where he is after the All Star break and reconnect. We’ll have some additional information around Friday after the All Star break.”
“Unfortunately, he has some knees that have some wear and tear on them that will show themselves at times. He had some discomfort so we decided to bring him back to Pittsburgh.”
