Minor Moves: Holdzkom Activated From DL, McKinney Promoted

Published:

A few minor moves from this afternoon:

**John Holdzkom has been activated from the Indianapolis disabled list. He was on the DL with shoulder fatigue, and had some really bad command issues at the start of the year. He had been throwing bullpen sessions recently, and Ryan Palencer gave a summary of how he looked in one of those outings, noting his command looked better. If the Pirates can get him back to his 2014 form, it would be a huge addition for their bullpen.

**RHP Brett McKinney was promoted to Altoona from Bradenton. He had a 3.42 ERA in 23.2 innings working as Bradenton’s closer, with a 23:7 K/BB ratio. McKinney is a hard thrower who was drafted in the 19th round in 2013. Bradenton added Ryan Hafner from extended Spring Training, who had been working on his game after some early season struggles.
