Free $5,000 Contest Tonight, Plus a Free Pirates Prospects Subscription

Published:

As you may know, we run a promotion with DraftKings where you can get a free one year subscription to Pirates Prospects just by signing up for a new account and making a $5 minimum deposit. Today, DraftKings is offering a special contest to Pirates Prospects readers. All new and beginner users at DraftKings can enter a free $5,000 MLB contest, based on tonight’s games. The contest pays out the top 1,350 finishers.

My favorite pick tonight is Jimmy Nelson at $6,100. So far this season, Nelson has been much better at home than on the road. He has a 2.06 ERA and a .496 OPS against at home, compared to a 7.07 ERA and an .813 OPS on the road. He’s also going up against the White Sox, who rank 25th in wOBA, 24th in wRC+, and 25th in OPS. He costs about $4,000 less than the top pitchers, giving a good shot at strong production from one of your pitchers, while also leaving money to spend on offense (which I used in part to go for the hot hitting Russell Martin in hitter friendly Baltimore).

Click here to join the contest tonight for free, and get a chance to win some money by playing a one day fantasy baseball contest. Don’t forget that if you sign up for a new DraftKings account, and deposit at least $5 with your initial deposit, you’ll get a free one year subscription to Pirates Prospects (normal price: $29.99). Once you sign up and make your deposit with DraftKings, send an e-mail to Javier Vargas (jvargas@draftkings.com) and let him know you are participating in the Pirates Prospects subscription promotion.
