Minor Moves: Tyler Waldron to the DL, John Holdzkom Promoted to Indianapolis

Published:

The Indianapolis Indians have made a pair of moves today. Right-handed pitcher Tyler Waldron was placed on the disabled list with a right intercostal strain. The move was back-dated to July 3rd. Right-hander John Holdzkom was promoted from Altoona to take Waldron’s place.

Waldron has a 3.79 ERA in 40.1 innings this year with Indianapolis, along with a 33:12 K/BB ratio. He’s made four starts in that span, with a 2.37 ERA in 19 innings, with a 17:5 K/BB ratio.

Holdzkom was signed by the Pirates last month out of indy ball. He threw six shutout innings with Altoona, giving up one hit, two walks, and striking out ten. I wrote about Holdzkom when he was signed.
