Minor League Schedule: Have You Noticed How Good Jason Creasy Has Been This Year?

Six games on the schedule today. Yesterday’s Result: Indianapolis was off yesterday

Indianapolis is on their All-Star break until Thursday. When they resume play, they will take on Columbus, who they are tied with for first place.

Altoona is on their All-Star break until Thursday. The Curve are in last place in their division, 20.5 games out of first place.

High-A: Bradenton (48-42, 13-8 2nd half) vs Clearwater (26-66) 6:30pm
Probable starter: Jason Creasy (5-4, 3.29)
Yesterday’s Result: Bradenton was off yesterday

Jason Creasy will make his 20th start of the season tonight. He has pitched 98.1 innings, allowing 101 hits, six homers and 13 walks. He has 69 strikeouts, a 1.02 GO/AO ratio and a .267 BAA. In his last start, Creasy threw seven shutout innings. He hasn’t walked a batter in his last five starts, a span of 32.2 innings. He faced Clearwater on June 1st and threw six shutout innings, giving up two hits and picking up seven strikeouts. Creasy hasn’t lost in seven home starts, posting a 3.00 ERA in 36 innings. He is tenth in the FSL with a 1.16 WHIP.

Low-A: West Virginia (32-62, 12-14 2nd half) @ Hagerstown (61-35) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Cody Dickson (4-8, 4.45)

Cody Dickson will make his 19th start of the season tonight. He has thrown a total of 87 innings, surrendering 97 hits, eight homers and 38 walks. He has 67 strikeouts, a 1.05 GO/AO ratio and a .290 BAA. In his last start, Dickson gave up one run over 4.2 innings in a game that was suspended due to rain. He threw seven shutout innings in his previous start. Prior to these last two starts, Dickson struggled all season long. He had an ERA over 5.00 in both May and June.

Short-Season A: Jamestown (12-18) @ Brooklyn (15-16) 7:05pm
Probable Starter: Frank Duncan (0-1, 4.57)
Yesterday’s Result: Jamestown was off yesterday

Frank Duncan will make his sixth start of the season tonight. He has gone five innings in each of his last two starts, allowing one run in each game. In his previous two starts combined, Duncan gave up nine runs over 8.2 innings. In 21.2 innings, he has a 4/7 BB/SO ratio.

Dario Agrazal will make his fifth start of the season today. He has looked great since giving up three runs over 3.2 innings in his season debut. John started working at Pirates Prospects in 2009, but his connection to the Pittsburgh Pirates started exactly 100 years earlier when Dots Miller debuted for the 1909 World Series champions. John was born in Kearny, NJ, two blocks from the house where Dots Miller grew up. From that hometown hero connection came a love of Pirates history, as well as the sport of baseball. When he didn't make it as a lefty pitcher with an 80+ MPH fastball and a slider that needed work, John turned to covering the game, eventually focusing in on the prospects side, where his interest was pushed by the big league team being below .500 for so long. John has covered the minors in some form since the 2002 season, and leads the draft and international coverage on Pirates Prospects. He writes daily on Pittsburgh Baseball History, when he's not covering the entire system daily throughout the entire year on Pirates Prospects.
