The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to terms with 22nd round pick Eric Karch, as shown by a Tweet from Karch himself.
Thanks to the @Pirates I'm blessed with the opportunity to continue my career! The journey starts today off to Pittsburgh ✈️
— Eric Karch (@Karch_26) June 12, 2014
The move was expected, as Karch was a college senior at Pepperdine, and had no other options. The right-hander throws in the low-90s, and has a good changeup. His team recently lost to TCU in the finals of the Super Regional, ending his college season. Karch actually took the loss in the final game, giving up two runs, including a single and a run to Pirates’ 26th round pick Jerrick Suiter.
The Draft Pick Signing Tracker has been updated with this move.
