Game Notes: Kris Johnson has quietly put together a great season, thanks to a terrific stretch in his last nine starts. He has had a quality start in every outing since June 15th, giving up nine runs over 60 innings. Jared Hughes threw a scoreless eighth inning, handing the ball off to Duke Welker, who blew the save. The game went to the 12th inning, where Atahualpa Severino gave up a run in his third inning of work. Indianapolis put the tying run on via a Matt Hague single, his third hit of the night. They were unable to score though, with Andrew Lambo and Russ Canzler making the final two outs. Canzler had the only RBI for the Indians, a 7th inning sacrifice fly.
AA: ALTOONA CURVE

Game Notes: Eliecer Navarro pitched great through seven innings, allowing one run and striking out nine batters, but the Altoona hitters were unable to plate more than one run in regulation. Going to extra innings, the game went to the 13th inning before Altoona put two men on with one out. Carlos Paulino finished the game with a walk-off single, scoring Adalberto Santos. Gregory Polanco drove home the first run for Altoona with a sixth inning sacrifice fly. Santos scored both runs. Quinton Miller threw three shutout innings and Jason Townsend picked up the win by throwing the last two innings.
A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS
Result: Dunedin 5, Bradenton 1

Game Notes: Zack Dodson had a rough fourth inning, allowing three runs and the Bradenton bats were silent almost all night, as they lost 5-1 to Dunedin. Tyler Waldron came on and threw two inning, allowing two unearned runs. Zac Fuesser threw the final three innings without allowing a run. Bradenton didn’t score their run until the ninth inning, when Jose Osuna drove home Dan Gamache with a one out single. Gamache hit his 29th double that inning, the only extra base hit of the game for Bradenton. They had just five hits on the night, two from Gift Ngoepe. Benji Gonzalez stole his 23rd base of the season, a career high for him.
A: WEST VIRGINIA POWER

Game Notes: Jordan Steranka picked a good time to hit his first career homer. With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, Steranka hit a walk-off homer, giving the Power the victory. Reliever Kyle Haynes made his third start of the season tonight and he has looked good in all of them. He isn’t stretched out enough yet to go five innings, but in his three combined starts, he now has 17 strikeouts and no earned runs allowed in 10.2 innings. Both Lakewood runs were scored off of Ryan Hafner, who threw 2.2 innings. Cesar Lopez picked up the win, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings. Josh Bell hit his 32nd double.

Game Notes: Jamestown starter Cody Dickson set the bar high last week, throwing five no-hit innings. Tonight he was nearly as good, throwing five shutout innings, allowing three hits and walking one batter. Shane Carle followed Dickson and pitched well, picking up his first career save. In four innings, he allowed just one unearned run, giving Dickson his second career win. Despite losing his 14 game hitting streak two games ago, Adam Frazier has remained hot with three hits tonight. He is batting .381 in his last ten games. Over that same ten game stretch, Erich Weiss is hitting .457 after two hits tonight.

Game Notes: Starter Blake Taylor continued his impressive beginning to his career, throwing three shutout innings, allowing one hit. In 11 innings so far(four starts), the 2013 second round pick has allowed three hits, one run and three walks. Reese McGuire reached base three times with two singles and a walk. He also threw out all four attempted base stealers. Austin Meadows also added two hits and he stole his first career base. Trae Arbet had a big game, with his fourth double, second triple and three RBI’s. He came into the game with five RBI’s on the season and none in his last nine games. Cesilio Pimentel threw three scoreless innings and Jovany Lopez picked up the win with 2.1 shutout innings of his own. The game was scoreless through the first six innings.
