Game Notes: Kris Johnson now has a 2.58 ERA in 76.2 innings as a starter, with a 54:27 K/BB ratio. Ivan De Jesus has a .316/.369/.460 line in 174 at-bats on the season. Jose Tabata made a rehab start, playing a complete nine innings. He should be close to returning to the Pirates, possibly by the end of the week. Tabata is currently 4-for-23 in his rehab assignment, with three of his hits coming against left-handers.

Game Notes: Casey Sadler was knocked out of the game after one batter after getting hit in the shin with a comebacker to the mound. He was diagnosed with a right knee contusion. Alex Dickerson homered for his second game in a row, and hit his eighth of the year. Dickerson finished the month of June with a .300 average and a .917 OPS. The Altoona bullpen pitched all nine innings to pick up the win, led by 4.1 innings from Nate Baker.

Game Notes: Zack Dodson had a great start in May, with a 3.45 ERA in 28.2 innings. In the month of June he had a 6.84 ERA in 26.1 innings. Willy Garcia hit his 12th homer of the year. It was also his eighth homer of the month of June. He finished with a .308 average and a 1.012 OPS. Stetson Allie is off to a slow start in Bradenton, with a .612 OPS and 18 strikeouts in 39 at-bats.

Shane Carle, taken in the tenth round, made his third appearance. The sinkerball pitcher has given up three earned runs in six innings, with a 4:0 K/BB ratio and a 2.75 GO/AO ratio. Jeff Roy now has five stolen bases in ten games. Jin-De Jhang went 1-for-3, and now has a hit in eight of his nine games.
