TOP OF THE SYSTEM
A look at how the current top 20 prospects did today. Note that this list doesn’t include players currently in the majors. If a player is in the majors, he will be removed, everyone below him will be shifted up a spot, and a new player will be added to the bottom of the list. Rankings are from the pre-season rankings, and links to each prospect writeup can be found by clicking the player names below. Players who weren’t in the original top 20 are linked to their player page on the site.

DAILY SUMMARY
Top Hitter: Josh Harrison, SS (.333) – 3-for-4, 3 2B, BB, SB
Home Runs: Alex Presley (2)
AAA: INDIANAPOLIS INDIANS
Result: Indianapolis 9, Gwinnett 2
Starting Pitcher: Francisco Liriano, LHP (2-0, 1.64) – 6.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 K, 0 HR
Top Hitter: Josh Harrison, SS (.333) – 3-for-4, 3 2B, BB, SB
Other Notable Performers:
Kris Johnson, LHP (1.99) – 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 0 HR
Jose Contreras, RHP (3.00) – 1.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 0 HR
Ivan De Jesus, 2B (.351) – 2-for-3, 3B, 3 RBI
Alex Presley, CF (.302) – 1-for-5, HR
Game Notes: Francisco Liriano made his latest rehab start, throwing 82 pitches on the day. He was scheduled to throw 90 pitches, and most likely finished throwing in the bullpen after his start. I wrote earlier today that Liriano could make one more rehab start and be in the Pirates rotation no later than May 11th. Alex Presley hit his second homer of the year. Josh Harrison is batting for a .333/.429/.444 line in 54 at-bats since being sent down, and is 8-for-11 in stolen bases. Kris Johnson was originally in line to start Thursday’s game, but threw an inning in relief today. That probably means the return of Phil Irwin to the rotation on Thursday, as Irwin was added to the roster today and is ready to pitch.
AA: ALTOONA CURVE
Result: Akron 5, Altoona 0
Starting Pitcher: David Bromberg, RHP (6.19) – 6.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, 2 HR
Top Hitter: Matt Curry, 1B (.270) – 2-for-4
Other Notable Performers:
Adalberto Santos, 3B (.400) – 0-for-1, 2 BB
Game Notes: Altoona only had four hits on the night, and had three pickoffs on the base paths. Adalberto Santos returned from the DL today and walked twice in his return to the lineup. David Bromberg has been starting for Altoona with Tyler Waldron on the disabled list and Brandon Cumpton being promoted to Indianapolis. Bromberg has given up five earned runs in 11 innings in two starts this year. Click here to read John Eshleman’s live report.
A+: BRADENTON MARAUDERS
Bradenton was suspended in the 7th inning due to rain. The game was tied 4-4. It will resume at 10 AM in the morning, and will be followed by the regularly scheduled game.
