Injury Notes: D’Arnaud, Garrett Jones, Tony Watson

Published:

Here are a few injury updates from major league camp, along with a non-injury update.

**Chase d’Arnaud, who is dealing with a sprained thumb, is going to have an appointment for an MRI soon. He has been looked at here in Bradenton, but the Pirates and d’Arnaud wanted to get a second opinion.

**Garrett Jones (oblique) took some swings in the cage today and played catch. He will try to take live batting practice tomorrow, and take some swings against velocity in the batting cages. Just an observation, but the Pirates cutting Clint Robinson and Matt Hague today seems to be a good sign that Jones will be ready for the start of the season. Either that, or Gaby Sanchez will play every day if Jones has to go on the DL.

**Tony Watson hasn’t pitched in a few weeks. He’s been working on his mechanics and could return Sunday. He’ll work tomorrow on the side for one more day. Clint Hurdle said he was healthy.
