Pirates Reportedly Agree to Deals With Three Players

Published:

We’ve heard that the Pittsburgh Pirates have started talking with their draft picks. Third round pick Jon Sandfort was on 93.7 The FAN the other day, and told John Seibel, Joe Starkey, and Josh Miller that he planned to go down to Bradenton and sign on Monday.

Two other agreements have come out in their own local media. Sixth round pick Eric Wood and ninth round pick D.J. Crumlich have both appeared to have agreed to deals with the Pirates. Bob Elliott of 24 Hours Vancouver reports that Wood has agreed to a deal to sign for $100,000. The slot price for Wood is $188,800.

Tim Burt of the Orange County Register talks to Crumlich, who mentions that he graduates from UC Irvine on June 15th, then will head off to State College.

So it sounds like deals have been reached with three of the top ten round guys, with one bonus amount announced. It also sounds like we should hear an official announcement on Monday.
