The Mesa Solar Sox lost 8-7 to the Surprise Saguaros today. Robbie Grossman made his third start in as many games, batting third this time around, rather than leadoff. Grossman went 1-for-4 on the day with a double, a walk, and a strikeout. Grossman has recorded a hit in each of his three games this year in the AFL, playing right field in all three.
Michael Colla made his debut, pitching 1.2 innings. Colla allowed an unearned run on one hit and one walk, while striking out two. The run ended up being the deciding factor, although that was only because Mesa closed the gap with a run in the bottom of the ninth.
Mesa plays tomorrow afternoon at 3:35 PM EST against Salt River.
