Gerrit Cole got his second win of the season today in the Arizona Fall League, after another strong start for the Mesa Solar Sox. Cole pitched 3.2 innings, allowing one unearned run on a walk and no hits, with four strikeouts. Cole started off with two perfect innings, including two strikeouts in the second. He gave up a two out walk in the third, but finished off the frame with a strikeout, his second of the inning and his fourth of the day. Brandon Crawford reached on an error by Jarek Cunningham, and later scored on a Bryce Harper home run after Cole was lifted, giving Cole his only run of the day. As for Harper, he went 0-for-1 against Cole this time around, lining out to third base in the second inning.
Cole threw 54 pitches, 36 for strikes. Mesa gave him an eight run lead after three innings, allowing him to get his second win of the season.
Robbie Grossman was quiet at the plate, going 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout. Jarek Cunningham had a good day, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Brock Holt also played, starting at shortstop, and went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
