Kilcrease has signed with the Pirates.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed undrafted free agent Robbie Kilcrease, a left handed pitcher from Texas Tech, according to Rob Biertempfel.  The signing was announced yesterday on the Texas Tech official site.  Kilcrease was a redshirt junior, and will report to Bradenton, where he likely will play with the high-A team.

Kilcrease had 12 starts for Texas Tech in 2011, the most on the team, with a 5.97 ERA in 63.1 innings, along with a 39:21 K/BB ratio.  He threw 88 MPH out of high school, although there’s no word on his velocity in college.
