Michael Crotta Reinstated from DL, Optioned to AAA

Published:

Crotta has been reinstated from the disabled list, and optioned to AAA.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have reinstated right handed pitcher Michael Crotta from the disabled list, and have optioned him to AAA Indianapolis.  Crotta was placed on the disabled list on May 11th with right elbow inflammation.  In his rehab work he was mostly sitting 93-95 MPH, and combined for four innings, allowing two runs between the AA and AAA levels.  To make room for Crotta in Indianapolis, Brad Lincoln was transferred to the AA roster.  That’s likely just a paper move, as Lincoln is expected to make the start in Washington later this week during the double header.
