The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed relief pitcher Wilfredo Ledezma off of waivers, according to Jennifer Langosch. Â Ledezma was designated for assignment last week to clear space for Aaron Thompson, who the Pirates claimed off of waivers from the Washington Nationals. Â The Pirates and Ledezma agreed to a split contract early in the off-season, paying him $700,000 at the major league level, or $300,000 in the minors. Â Toronto will pick up the entire amount of that contract.
