Jennifer Langosch has the contract details for Garrett Atkins and Brian Burres.
Atkins will receive an $800,000 salary in the majors. He also has the following incentives based on plate appearances: $25,000 each for 300, 350, and 400 PAs, $50,000 each for 425, 450, 475, and 500 PAs. He also has the usual awards incentives. Atkins can request his release if he’s not on the roster on April 1st or June 1st, giving him two opportunities to opt out of his deal.
Burres will receive a $600,000 salary in the majors. He can also choose to sign with an Asian team for $50,000 between now and Opening Day, or for $100,000 during the regular season.
