Solid Inning For Ascanio, Latimore Slumping

MEXICAN PACIFIC LEAGUE
Yaquis de Obregon  6,  Aguilas de Mexicali  1  —
Los Aguilas scored their only run without a hit — a walk, a hit batter, a balk, and an RBI ground out in the 3rd inning.  Meanwhile, Obregon was busy posting 13 hits and scoring in four consecutive innings, with the biggest rally in the 4th inning, for 3 runs on a pair of homers.  CF Jeff Salazar walked twice in four plate appearances for Obregon.  Matt Hague made a pinch-hit appearance for Los Aguilas in the 7th, but grounded out.

Algodoneros de Guasave  10,  Venados de Mazatlan  6 —  Four of Los Venados’ 8 hits were home runs, but that was not enough to catch up to Guasave.  The Guasave batters racked up 17 hits and scored 7 runs over the first three innings.  DH Yurendell de Caster singled and doubled for Guasave, and drove in one run.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE
Sydney Blue Sox  5,  Adelaide Bite  0  —
LF Quincy Latimore continues in a bit of a slump, as he was hitless in 3 at-bats for the Bite.  Latimore, who started off the Australian season on a tear, is no 0-for-his last three games, and just 2-for-17 in his last 5 games.  Not that his Bite teammates have done much better — they were held to just 2 hits, as Blue Sox starter David Welch pitched a complete game shutout, while striking out 7 batters.  Former Altoona Curve Paul Mildren made the start for Adelaide, but struggled in the first two innings, giving up 2 runs in each, including a homer in the 2nd.  He was relieved in the 5th, after allowing 4 runs on 7 hits and 4 walks, with 2 strikeouts.  A new Pirate farmhand, Jackson Lodge, pitched the final two innings for the Bite.  He gave up a single in each inning, but did not let either runner score, and he struck out two batters.
