AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE
Brisbane Bandits 3, Adelaide Bite 1 — A solo homer in the top of the 1st was the only scoring the Bite could do. They posted 7 more hits, and collected 4 walks plus a hit batter, but could not push any of those base runners across the plate. The Bite left the bases loaded in the 5th, and had a runner thrown out at the plate in the 8th. They loaded the bases again in the 9th, but a double play ended the game. The lack of run support hurt starter Paul Mildren, who pitched 7 innings and allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks, with 3 strikeouts. Brisbane scored those 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st, on 2 doubles, a walk, and a sacrifice fly. Mildren went on to pitch 6 scoreless innings, working out of a couple of jams. He was relieved to begin the bottom of the 8th, and the first batter reliever Ryan Murphy faced hit a solo home run. LF Quincy Latimore went 0-for-4 in the game.
