Presley And Owens: Minor League Players Of The Year



1B Jeff Clement (photo) had surgery on his left knee last week, the second surgery on that knee in the past 2 years.� The procedure went well, and Clement is expected to be able to back in some capacity by Spring Training.

SS Pedro Ciriaco has appeared in 4 Pirates’ games in the past week, though he’s had only 3 at-bats.� He had a hit and scored on the 14th against the Mets, and also scored on the 26th against Houston.� Overall, Ciriaco is 2-for-4 at the plate.

Alex Presley has been getting into almost all of the Pirates’s games, either as a pinch-runner, or as a late-innning defensive replacement.� He’s hitting .300 (3 for 10) over the past 10 games.

Brad Lincoln has made only one mound appearance this month, and it was not a particularly happy one.� He pitched one inning and allowed 2 hits and a walk, for 3 runs (2 earned).


John Bowker (photo) has been getting a lot of playing time with the Pirates in the past week or so.� He has been doing a nice job in right field, while going 8-for-28 at the plate in the past 10 games, including 2 homers and 8 RBI.
