After Ian Snell‘s dismal start last night, I have seen some fans complaining that he still is not pitching inside. Since there was an important hockey contest keeping me from watching most of the game, I figured I would head over to Brooks Baseball and see if this were true.
Here are two graphs showing Snell’s pitch location last night. The first shows his pitches against right-handed batters, the second shows his pitches against lefties. These are from the viewpoint of the catcher.
Obviously, Snell continues to avoid pitching inside. Until this changes, I doubt he will ever have any consistent success.
