Here is a pretty interesting ESPN segment on Pirate prospect Mpho Ngoepe, who the team signed out of South Africa over the offseason. He is playing for South Africa in the World Baseball Classic if you have a chance to catch any of their games. They played today, but I was not able to get a glimpse of this young kid. Hat tip to Bucs Dugout for the link.

Thanks for the info. Â From this article it sounds like he has a very mature approach to the game and a strong work ethic. Â That can make average athletes into good professionals and it can make great athletes Hall of Famers. Â I don’t want to get ahead of myself but if the reports on his athletic ability are true then I think he has the ability to be something special.
Marte is providing the Pirates with a nice problem. Â Good to have good options for a change
