Here are some injury updates on some of the Pirates major leaguers. The first two come via Rob Biertempfel and Michael Sanserino on Twitter.

**Wandy Rodriguez (forearm) and James McDonald (shoulder) are expected to begin throwing next week. It’s possible that both could return by September when rosters expand, although I don’t see either returning before that point if they’re just starting to throw in late-July.

**Kyle McPherson had Tommy John surgery on July 10th. Normally it takes about a year for a player to return to the majors from that procedure. I wouldn’t expect McPherson to pitch until next June.

**Neil Walker started his rehab assignment with Indianapolis last night. He’s eligible to come off the DL on Monday, and is expected to return on that date.

**Jared Hughes had his rehab transferred to Indianapolis, which means he will probably be throwing tonight.
