Nick Kingham has been promoted to the Altoona Curve, Pirates Prospects has learned. The move is not yet official, and no corresponding moves have been announced. Kingham will leave for Altoona tomorrow. In 67 innings this year with Bradenton, Kingham posted a 3.09 ERA and a 71:14 K/BB ratio. That doesn’t include tonight’s start, which was suspended after three innings and saw him give up one run on two hits, with no walks and four strikeouts.

The timing of the move gives Kingham plenty of time to finish the 2013 season in Double-A. If he performs as well there as he did in Bradenton, he could start the 2014 season in Triple-A and end up in the majors by mid-season.
