Indianapolis lost their afternoon game on Wednesday by a 4-3 score. Osvaldo Bido had a strong start, allowing one run on three hits, two walks and five strikeouts in five innings. He had a 2.61 ERA in August and a 2.25 ERA so far through three starts in September. Cam Vieaux had a busy sixth inning, allowing one run on three hits, a walk and two strikeouts. Hunter Stratton took the loss with two runs allowed. Nick Mears tossed two shutout innings. The Indians had just three hits all game and one walk. Jose Godoy hit a two-run homer and Brendt Citta doubled in a run in the first. Ji-hwan Bae hit his 21st double and scored on the Citta hit. Drew Maggi stole his 21st base.

Altoona got great pitching and great hitting in an 8-0 win over Reading. Kyle Nicolas tossed 5.2 shutout frames on five hits, one walk and six strikeouts. He now has a 3.97 ERA in 90.2 innings, with 101 strikeouts. Nick Dombkowski and Austin Roberts combined to face 11 batters over the final 3.1 innings, with six strikeouts and the only batter reached on a wild pitch on a strike out. Liover Peguero hit his tenth homer, walked twice and stole two bases, giving him 27 steals on the season. Matt Gorski had three singles and drove in three runs. Endy Rodriguez had a single, double, run, two RBIs and a walk. His double was his 14th for Altoona, giving him 37 on the season. Malcom Nunez walked three times. Lolo Sanchez hit his fifth homer.
