Welcome to the Pirates Prospects daily video rundown, where we pull some of the top videos of the Pittsburgh Pirates across the internet.

Daily Video Rundown

Diego Castillo

Our 16th ranked prospect has done just about everything he has been asked to do since making the team straight out of camp. Maybe the playing time has been less than ideal, but Diego Castillo has been making the most out of his opportunities.

He has nine hits in his first 29 at-bats, and Monday night hit the first major league home run of his career against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Carmen Mlodzinski

Carmen Mlodzinski didn’t get off to the best of starts to open the season against Harrisburg, allowing five earned runs in 3 2/3 innings.

He bounced back and had a better start this past week against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, allowing just two earned runs in four innings while striking out five. This is a look at his entire start this past Thursday. He gave up a home run to lead off the fourth inning, but bounced back by striking out the next three hitters to close out his start.

Blake Sabol

Altoona lost four of six against the Flying Squirrels this past week, but that didn’t stop a few of the Curve from having very good weeks. One of which was Blake Sabol, who played in five of the six games last week, starting two as the team’s DH and three behind the plate as the catcher.

Sabol recorded eight hits on the week, one of which his first home run of the season. Sabol is an interesting prospect to watch, and if you are looking for a sleeper outside of the top 30 rankings, he’s as good a name as any to follow.

Omar Cruz

I highlighted this week the success in getting more swinging strikes by Omar Cruz this season now that he is coming out of the bullpen. It was a brilliant four innings of relief he posted on Friday night, striking out seven in four innings while picking up the win.

Some of his play was highlighted in the article, but here is a look at his entire outing.
