Minor League Schedule: 8/9/11

They are one win away from taking the league title. Altoona was off last night and West Virginia has off tonight. Bradenton has won 9 straight games.

Ohlendorf will make his 3rd rehab start while with Indianapolis

AAA: Indianapolis (61-56) @ Toledo (56-63) 7:00pm
Probable starter: Ross Ohlendorf (1-0 2.45)

Ross will make his 3rd rehab start with Indianapolis. He had previously made one rehab start with Altoona and two while with Bradenton. He has pitched a total of 23.2 innings allowing 24 hits, walking 8 and striking out 13. In his last start on Thursday he gave up 2 earned runs in 6 innings. He allowed 6 hits, walked three and struck out three.

AA: Altoona (50-63) @ New Britian (56-58) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Jeff Locke (6-8 4.22)

Jeff has made 21 starts and one relief appearance this year. He is the Altoona team leader in strikeouts with 108 and his 119.1 innings pitched is just behind team leader Aaron Pribanic. In his 4 starts since the all-star break Jeff has a 1-0 2.52 record over 25 innings pitched. He allowed one run over 7 innings on Wednesday night.

High-A: Bradenton (58-56 overall 28-16 2nd half) @ Ft Myers (51-63 overall 17-27 2nd half) 7:00pm
Probable starter: Brandon Cumpton (2-1 4.33)

Cumpton will get his 8th start since joining Bradenton and his overall 20th start of the season. He has a combined record between West Virginia and Bradenton of 9-5 4.31 in 110.2 innings with 24 walks and 82 strikeouts. He gave up just one run over 6 innings in his last start on Thursday and in his prior start he struck out 8 batters over 6 innings.

Low-A: West Virginia (54-58 overall 19-25 2nd half) VS Charleston (44-70 overall 18-26 2nd half) 7:05pm 8/10
Probable starter: Zac Fuesser (3-4 3.00)

Zac will get his 11th start of the year tonight, he has also made 15 relief appearances. As a starter he has a 1-3 3.83 record in 54 innings with 43 strikeouts. In his last start on Thursday night he allowed just one run over 7 innings. He faced Charleston in back to back starts in July and gave up just one run over 7 innings on the 18th but followed that with seven earned runs over just 4 innings six days later.

Short Season A: State College (20-31) VS Aberdeen (18-32) 7:05pm
Probable starter: Michael Jefferson (1-1 5.70)

State College currently sits in last place in their division, ten games back despite going 8-2 in their last ten games. Samuel Gonzalez and Carlos Mesa were both elected to the NYPL all-star game which takes place next week. Mesa will not play in the game due to injury.

Rookie: GCL Pirates (24-19) VS GCL Tigers (20-23) 12:00pm

The GCL Pirates are currently in 2nd place, 4.5 games back in the standings.

VSL: VSL Pirates (40-32) VS VSL Rays (38-33) 11:00am

The VSL Pirates have finished their season and will play game two of the VSL playoffs today, one win away from the league title.

DSL: DSL Pirates (36-20) VS DSL Rays (26-32) 10:30am

The DSL Pirates are in 2nd place, one game back of the DSL Royals who they play two more times this year. Their season ends on August 19th.
