Pirates Sign International Pitcher Leandro Rodriguez

The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed international right handed pitcher Leandro Rodriguez, according to the Dominican Prospect League website.  Rodriguez was signed out of the league for $80,000.

Rodriguez is 17 years old, and according to the article, was trained by former major leaguer Denio Gonzalez.  The article mentions that he has a loose arm, and projects to be a player to watch.

The Pirates have signed a few players out of the DPL in the last year.  Last year they signed Willy Garcia, Jonathan Herrand, Isaac Sanchez, and Miguel De Aza, spending a combined $795,000 on the four prospects.
