Osoria was one of the Pirates’ top signings in the 2019-20 signing period.  He offered good mechanics and a fastball that could reach 91 mph.  He also threw a curve and change, with the former being the more advanced pitch.

DSL:  0-4-0, 6.12 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, 25.0 IP, 5.8 BB/9, 7.2 K/9

In his debut season, Osoria made ten starts.  Opponents batted only .227 against him, but he had control problems.

2022
DSL:  0-1-0, 2.84 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, 12.2 IP, 8.5 BB/9, 15.6 K/9

After four starts, Osoria went on the injured list.  He returned just to appear twice in relief in mid-August.  His problem with walks got worse, but he struck out hitters at a prodigious rate.

Hopefully Osoria will be healthy enough to pitch in the FCL in 2023.
