WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE
Tredaway was drafted as a fifth-year senior out of Oklahoma.  He turned 23 a month after the draft.  Baseball America didn’t rank him among the draft’s top 500 prospects, nor did MLB.com rank him among the top 250.  He played mostly center in college and is good at making contact, striking out in only a tenth of his ABs in his last year.  He didn’t walk much that year, though.  Tredaway had something of a breakout season in 2022, batting 370/414/549.  Given his age, though, this isn’t necessarily a big indicator.  He didn’t hit for much power before that.  He didn’t run a great deal, either, until he stole 24 bases in 28 tries in 2022.  Tredaway signed for a little more than $100,000 below the slot value of $155,000.

2022
R:  200/200/400, 5 AB 1 2B, 1 K
A:  160/373/240, 50 AB, 1 2B, 1 HR, 14 BB, 10 K, 2-2 SB

In his debut, Tredaway played almost exclusively in the outfield corners.  Apart from excellent walk and K rates, he hit very little.

Tredaway’s debut wasn’t impressive, although the sample size was very small.  He could be with either class A affiliate in 2023, but he wasn’t on a roster when the season started.
