| The Pirates signed Sanchez in the 2018-19 signing period. They had to wait until after the start of the period because he was too young to sign. Originally a third baseman, he now appears to be a first baseman.
2019 Playing third and a little in the outfield corners, Sanchez just held his own in his first DSL season. He was one of the youngest players in the league. 2020 2021 Returning to the DSL, Sanchez moved to first except for one game at third. He hit for a high average, but only gap power, and he seldom walked. His OBP was helped by seven hit batsmen. 2022 Sanchez moved up to the FCL, where he was the most frequent first baseman. Apart from showing a little power, he didn’t hit, as he routinely chased offspeed and breaking pitches out of the strike zone. It’s hard to see Sanchez in full season ball unless he starts making dramatically more contact. |
