| Ramirez is a defense-oriented catcher who may or may not develop with the bat.
2022 Ramirez didn’t hit much in the DSL, although he only turned 17 about a month into the season. He was the primary catcher for one of the Pirates’ affiliates and didn’t play at all except behind the plate, which probably tells us something. He appears to have played well defensively and threw out 28% of base stealers. Considering how young he is, it wouldn’t be surprising if Ramirez repeated the DSL in 2023. |
