| Mendez was considered raw when he signed. He had a good change and his fastball sat at 85-88 mph.
2020 2021 In 22 appearances, all in relief, Mendez put up a good ERA, but the other numbers were more dubious. His xFIP was 6.00 and he missed very few bats. 2022 Except for a much higher K rate and less luck with his ERA, Mendez had largely the same season as the year before. He did show quite an aptitude for vulturing wins. Mendez hasn’t shown a whole lot so far and probably won’t be assured of a spot in the FCL in 2023. |
