WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Lantigua was older than the usual Latin American signee, almost 19 when he signed. He didn’t get a large bonus. Lantigua appears to be a corner outfielder.
2017 Serving mostly as a backup in the outfield, Lantigua put up very good walk and K rates, but didn’t have any extra base hits. He did show some base stealing ability. 2018 Lantigua didn’t get a great deal of experience in his first year, but the Pirates still promoted him to the GCL. He again played only sparingly and didn’t hit much, with little power. He divided his time between the outfield corners. Lantigua likely will be at Bristol or back in the GCL in 2019. |
