WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
A 6’4″ lefty, De La Paz is mainly a projection guy. When he signed, he threw in the mid-80s with a curve and change.
2022 The Pirates kept De La Paz’ workload low in his debut season. He started his last six outings, but never went beyond three innings. Opponents batted only .119 against him with no extra base hits, even though he didn’t miss a lot of bats. What trouble he had came from walks. He actually pitched well most of the time. Of the nine earned runs he allowed, six came in a two-game stretch. In the six starts he had a 2.61 ERA. De La Paz is still very young and hopefully will get stronger. |
