When the Pirates signed Uribe, he’d already reached 93 mph and still had some projection.  He also throws two secondary pitches, a curve and change, and gets a lot of spin on the former.

In 11 starts, Uribe got very good results, although his walk and K rates weren’t good.  Left-handed batters went just 1-for-18 against him.

Still working mostly as a starter, Uribe had a fairly similar year, except with much better walk and K rates.  The ERA resulted largely from a high BABIP and low strand rate.  This time Uribe had a reverse platoon split.

Despite the ERA, Uribe made good progress in 2022.  He’ll likely be in the FCL in 2023.
