WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
The Pirates gave Terrero one of the top bonuses in their 2019-20 international signing class. He’s a contact-oriented hitter who may not develop much power. His speed is a little better than average, so he could stay in center. His arm is below average.
2020 2021 Terrero got on base a great deal, thanks to a very high walk rate. He didn’t hit the ball with a lot of authority, but generally made contact. He spent a third of his time in center and the rest in left, and made only one error. 2022 Terrero was probably the most consistent hitter on the FCL team. His plate discipline was outstanding, but it’d be good if he showed more power. (The one home run was inside-the-park.) He split his time evenly between the three outfield positions. The Pirates don’t have many lower level hitters who control the strike zone and make good contact, which makes Terrero a welcome relief. He won’t turn 21 until after the 2023 season. |
