Dixon went to the University of Texas as a freshman in 2020 and played only briefly in the pandemic season, at second base. In 2021, he played short for Weatherford and hit 335/495/633, with ten home runs and more walks than strikeouts. He has a commitment to Arkansas for 2022. Baseball America did not list him among the top 500 draft prospects or the top 100 prospects in Texas.
2021 Dixon got into a dozen games in the FCL and had little trouble with the pitching there, apart from a high K rate. He played second, apart from one game at short. 2022 Dixon spent the season with Bradenton. He played mostly first and third, with some time at second. Dixon hit for some power and drew a lot of walks, but otherwise struggled at the plate, with a very high K rate. Dixon will be with Greensboro in 2023. |
