WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE

The Pirates signed Mojica a month after the signing period began, as he was too young to sign on July 2.  He has potential as a power hitter.  He has a good arm, but will have to keep up his conditioning to stay at third.

2019
DSL: 351/468/580, 174 AB, 14 2B, 1 3B, 8 HR, 37 BB, 34 K, 2-3 SB

Mojica dominated the DSL as one of the youngest players in the league.  He finished first in OPS, second in slugging and fourth in OBP.  He also walked more than he struck out and maintained a reasonable strikeout rate, while destroying both LHPs and RHPs about equally.  Mojica played a couple games at first, but otherwise played third.

Mojica had a huge debut.  It’s not inconceivable that the Pirates might try to push him on to Bristol.
