The Pittsburgh Pirates have made their second big international signing, getting shortstop Christopher Perez out of the Dominican. The 6’1″, 170 pound infielder signed for a $150,000 bonus. According to Ben Badler on Baseball America, Perez has a line-drive stroke from the right side. He has good bat speed and uses the entire field.
Earlier in the day, the Pirates signed outfielder Yondry Contreras, who was their top target in this July 2nd draft class.
