WTM’s PLAYER PROFILE |
Escudero signed with the Brewers, but he never played in their system as the Pirates picked him up in a minor deal. He doesn’t seem to have been a prominent signing.
2021 Following the trade, Escudero played in the DSL for the Pirates. He hit very little, although he at least made contact consistently. He threw out 24% of base stealers. 2022 In his second DSL season, Escudero hit a lot better, although still with little power. He also again had an outstanding BB:K ratio. He threw out 50% of base stealers. Escudero should be in the FCL in 2023. His 2022 season looks good on the surface, but the lack of power is a concern. Hitters who just focus on serving the ball over the infield don’t generally do well as they advance. |
