Indianapolis won 7-5 on Friday. Osvaldo Bido allowed three runs over five innings and struck out seven batters. Zach Matson allowed two runs, while Eric Stout, Eric Hanhold and newly-acquired Junior Fernandez each threw shutout ball. Blake Sabol had himself a day, hitting his third homer for Indianapolis, while driving in a pair and also drawing two walks. Bligh Madris had two hits. Mason Martin hit his 26th double, but he also moved within five of the Pirates all-time single-season minor league strikeout record with two tonight, giving him 172 on the season. Indians still have 17 games left this year.

Quinn Priester had an outstanding start on Friday night, tossed seven shutout innings on two hits and two walks, with five strikeouts. He tossed 75 pitches, with 50 going for strikes. He now has a 2.13 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 70 strikeouts in 71.2 innings for Altoona. Dillon Peters made a rehab appearance and tossed a scoreless frame. Tahnaj Thomas allowed a rare run in the ninth, but Altoona won 3-1. Endy Rodriguez singled in the first run of the game for the Curve. Malcom Nunez followed with an RBI single of his own. Andy Alvarez added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly in the ninth. Nunez had three hits, including his third double since joining Altoona. Liover Peguero hit his fifth triple. Matt Gorski stole his 19th base of the season.

Greensboro lost 4-0, as a rough bottom of the first put them down early and they never mounted any offense. Jared Jones allowed three runs in the first, two of them being earned. In his last start of the season (unless he goes to Altoona next week for one more), he lasted four innings, allowing five hits, two walks and he had three strikeouts. Assuming he’s done, he finished with a 4.62 ERA, a 1.35 WHIP and 142 strikeouts in 122.2 innings. He’s currently the league leader in strikeouts and he’s second in innings pitched. The batters had four hits, two walks and Jase Bowen’s double was the only extra-base hit. They went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position. Dariel Lopez was activated off of the 7-day Injured List before Friday’s game. He had a single in four trips to the plate.
