Indianapolis won 7-6 over Syracuse. Eduardo Vera has been going through a very rough patch lately and it looked like he broke out of it until the sixth inning. After starting the game with five shutout frames, he gave up five runs in the fifth. Yefry Ramirez allowed an inherited runner to score and his own run as well to finish off the sixth. He stayed on for two more shutout innings. Geoff Hartlieb got his second save with a scoreless ninth.
It was a nice day for the prospects in the lineup. Cole Tucker hit his eighth home run. He also walked, single, scored twice and drove in two runs. Ke’Bryan Hayes had two hits, including his 23rd double. Will Craig had two hits, including his 16th double. Jason Martin hit his eighth home run and drove in two runs. Pablo Reyes had a single, walk and an RBI. Erik Gonzalez went 1-for-5 with two RBIs.

Altoona lost 4-3 to Erie in game one a doubleheader. Cody Bolton started and had a rough outing during a game that had over two hours in delays. He gave up three runs on five hits and a walk in three innings. Yeudy Garcia threw a scoreless fourth. Angel German pitched great over three shutout innings, while Matt Eckelman took the loss with an unearned run in the tenth inning.
The Curve had eight hits, all of them singles. Jason Delay had three hits and drove in two runs. Mitchell Tolman had two hits, a walk and an RBI. Bligh Madris had a single and two walks. Jared Oliva had his hitting streak snapped at ten games on an 0-for-5 night.
In game two, Nicholas Economos made his Double-A debut. He went 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks, while striking out seven batters. Jesus Liranzo got him out of a little jam by recording the final out of the sixth. He stayed on for the seventh and threw a scoreless frame. Altoona lost 3-1.
The Curve scored a run in the sixth on Jared Oliva’s 19th double, which was followed by singles from Robbie Glendinning and Arden Pabst. Glendinning and Alfredo Reyes each had two hits. Reyes hit his sixth double.

Bradenton lost game one of a doubleheader 2-1 to Clearwater. Ike Schlabach got the spot start and went four innings, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk, with three strikeouts. Hunter Stratton followed with two perfect innings, striking out three batters.
A solo homer from Mason Martin accounted for the lone run. The Marauders had just three hits total, with Travis Swaggerty picking up two singles and his 17th stolen base. Deon Stafford drew the only walk.
In game two, Bradenton won 4-1. Mason Martin homered again and also added his fourth double. He drove in two runs. He has 26 homers this season. Oneil Cruz had just one hit on the day, but it was his sixth home run. Travis Swaggerty didn’t have any hits in game two, but he drove in a run on a sacrifice fly. Calvin Mitchell lost his hitting streak with an 0-for-5 (one walk) game.
Conner Loeprich was promoted last night to Bradenton and got the start, giving up one run over six innings for the win. He struck out six batters. Joe Jacques got his first save with a shutout seventh inning.

Morgantown lost 8-3 to Batavia. Braxton Ashcraft got the start and went 4.2 innings, allowing five earned runs on five hits and three walks, with six strikeouts. Through seven starts, he has a 6.48 ERA in 33.1 innings, with a 1.26 WHIP and 26 strikeouts. Austin Roberts allowed two runs in 2.1 innings, breaking a streak of 11.1 scoreless innings to start his career for this year’s eighth round pick. Xavier Concepcion allowed one unearned run on three walks, before Cameron Junker finished it out with 1.1 scoreless.
Ethan Paul had two hits, a walk and a run scored in the lead-off spot. Paul’s third double was the only extra-base hit. Jared Triolo had two hits and an RBI, but he also committed two errors. Matt Gorski and Brett Kinneman each contributed an RBI. Blake Sabol stole his second base.

The GCL Pirates were rained out. They will make the game up as part of a doubleheader in August. Deion Walker is scheduled to debut tomorrow. Ryan Harbin is scheduled for Thursday, though that could be pushed back due to today’s rain out.

The DSL Pirates1 lost 5-4 to the Dodgers. Valentin Linarez got the start and pitched brilliantly, allowing one run on two hits over five innings. He had no walks and seven strikeouts. Linarez now has a 2.33 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP in 38.1 innings. Argenys Dominguez allowed a run in his lone inning. Luis Peralta threw 1.2 scoreless despite three walks. Kevin Disla allowed an unearned run in his only inning, while striking out three batters. Jordy Ortega took the loss with two runs (one earned) in his one inning of work. He struck out three batters, giving the Pirates 16 strikeouts on the day.
Eliazer Montero and Jose Berroa each went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Juan Jerez collected his fourth triple and scored a run. Luis Tello had a single, walk and two runs scored.
The DSL Pirates2 won 5-4 over the Tigers2. They now have a 36-8 record, with 28 games left in the season. Jorge Ramos started and allowed two earned runs over 5.2 innings. He was followed by Jose Amaya, who now has a 1.98 ERA after giving up one run in 2.1 innings. Enmanuel Mejia threw shutout ball in the ninth for his fifth save. In 10.2 innings this season, he has allowed just two hits, with no runs, three walks and 19 strikeouts.
Dariel Lopez had three hits and drove in a run. He collected his third triple of the season. Geovanny Planchart and Bladimir Susana each collected three hits as well, all singles. Eudys Carrasco had a double, RBI and two runs scored.
