Pirates Prospect Watch: Seth Beer Hits Three Homers For Indianapolis

Published:

Seth Beer had something brewing on Tuesday night in Indianapolis. The designated hitter went 4-for-5, hitting three home runs, leading the Pirates’ Triple-A team to a 13-6 win.

Beer launched his first bomb in the second inning, a solo shot to put Indianapolis up 3-1 at the time. He added another solo shot in the fourth inning, putting the Indians up 4-3. The final homer was a three run shot in the seventh inning, capping off the 13-run game for the Triple-A offense.

In his age 27 season, Beer is technically a prospect due to only having 120 at-bats in the majors. He spent most of this season in Altoona, and is hitting .295/.365/.469 between the top two levels, with 11 home runs. Seven of those homers have come since moving up to Triple-A, where he’s got a 1.031 OPS.
