Pirates Prospect Watch: Charles McAdoo Homers and Starts a Triple Play

Published:

Charles McAdoo had a big day in Altoona.

The third baseman went 3-for-4 at the plate, hitting his fifth home run at the Double-A level, along with his fifth double. In his time between Greensboro and Altoona this year, he has 14 homers and 20 doubles.

McAdoo got Altoona on the board in the third inning with a two out RBI single. The Altoona offense only scored two runs, and McAdoo was responsible for both, also hitting his solo homer to lead off the sixth inning.

It wasn’t just a big day on offense for the third baseman. He committed an error in the bottom of the sixth, putting runners at first and second with no outs. The very next at-bat saw him make up for the error, starting a 5-4-3 triple play.

McAdoo is now hitting .284/.370/.534 in his first 100 plate appearances at the Double-A level.
