J.P. Massey Shows His Future Potential During Eventful 2023 Season

The National League entered the bottom of the 6th inning of the Future's Game with a 5-0 lead. Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitcher J.P. Massey came on for his inning of work to protect the lead, and things started off well. Massey got a pop out and a ground out to lead off the frame. He then ran into issues. Massey walked his next three batters. The first walk was on five pitches. The next hitter battled back from a 1-2 count. The final walk was another five pitch plate appearance. This sparked a mound visit from pitching coach Felix Hernandez....
