Minor Moves: Bradenton Makes a Pair of Roster Moves

Published:

The Bradenton Marauders made a pair of roster moves ahead of Saturday’s game. They have placed catcher Wyatt Hendrie on the 7-day Injured List due to a concussion. They have also activated left-handed pitcher Luis Peralta from the 7-day Injured List.

The 24-year-old Hendrie left yesterday’s game early. He has been the primary catcher for Bradenton this year, hitting .231/.354/.282 in 12 games. The 2021 seventh round pick spent the entire 2022 season with Bradenton, posting a .706 OPS over 81 games.

The Marauders currently have Geovanny Planchart and Nick Cimillo as catcher options.

The 22-year-old Peralta has yet to pitch this season. He was dealing with an injury in Spring Training, and he has been doing rehab work up to this point. He spent the 2022 season at Bradenton, where he went 0-7, 6.41, though he racked up 97 strikeouts in 60.1 innings. He was tough to hit, but he was hurt by 44 walks and nine hit batters.

The Marauders recently lost starter Braxton Ashcraft to Greensboro, so it’s possible that his spot in the rotation will be taken by Peralta.

If any other minor moves pop up today, we will add them here.
